I have for you front and center today. A prime example of how difficult it is even for health professionals to follow their own advice, about how not to spread the cool virus as we are talking about it. Dr. Sarah Cody was giving advice for how to avoid contagion. He correctly says don’t touch your face, your hands, your eyes, your mouth, or knows all of that stuff, because even if you have the virus on your hands if you avoid touching your face, and you can go and wash your hands properly, first, which would take at least 20 seconds you can avoid selfcontagion you can avoid taking the virus from your hands and allowing it into your lungs, which is where it lives so to speak. And she says this and less than a minute later, she likes her own fingers, out in public, turning the pages of the notes that she has in front of her. This is how hard it is not to do this. Check out the video today, start working on not touching your face. Because one main way viruses spread is when you touch your own mouth nose, or eyes, is… Dr. Cody is the director of the SAN Toler a County, California is Public Health Department. 03/06/20 Page 13 of 16 davidpakmanshow20200305commercialfree They have at the latest check 11 cases of the virus. The press conference was a few days ago, but the video is now getting attention because of this. This is not to make fun of her. This is a reminder of how difficult it is not to touch one’s face. Different studies say people touch their faces as much as 23 times an hour. Another study says 90 times a day. Donald Trump bizarrely claimed that he hasn’t touched his face in three weeks, which is odd. Take a look at this as the President. Is there anything that they should be doing differently, since you think it is safe to fly at a “aaaaa “araneidae action with a… If you’re a singer you get on that point, we’ve been told, “Watch your hands, the Geronimo the vest and then you can maybe say something. Well, we’re always saying the common sense of washing your hands, not touching your faith ensuring that if you’ve touched anything you go and wash your hands. We get 20 seconds with soap hand sanitizer. Also work. But I think I was very reassured to hear the airlines talk about their cleaning procedures, and there are three levels of cleaning procedures. Because I think that will be reassuring to the American public and I haven’t touched my face, and weeks that in weeks the estate… And then here’s a picture of ’til Trump touching his face during that same briefing during which he said he hasn’t touched his space in three weeks. So as you can see, it is very difficult not just for Donald Trump but also for public health professionals. I was at a cafe two days ago. I know I mentioned a story like this from two weeks ago, this is a different story, this is two days ago, different incident. Some guys sitting two seats away from me. He’s coughing into the air when talking, he clearly has that cold voice, that voice when you’re very congested he keeps sniffing constantly as his nose drips. Are you really out at a cafe with that right now? And I know that those symptoms are not necessarily consistent with the virus, but with everything that’s going on flu season, the cool virus all of this different stuff, you go out and you just sit on your laptop, wiping your nose touching the laptop touching the coffee cup going over to get water, and touching the thing that water comes out of it, the cafe going to the bathroom, touching the door, the light switch to sink all of this stuff, go home. What are you doing out at a cafe? You are exposing other people, and Donald Trump unfortunately not helping, making everything worse at every opportunity, denying the death rate call this something that’s being politicized by the left, as you can see, it’s difficult. Even people who are acting in good faith to do all of the right things when it comes to this, not that your face all of that stuff, the damage that Donald Trump is potentially doing by continuing to spread this information is it irresponsible is an incredible understatement, as to what Donald Trump is doing.
So there’s a few angles to this next story that I wanna talk about yesterday. The stock market had a good day, and when the stock market has a good day, lots of companies have a good day. But I noticed that healthcare stocks had a particularly good day, yesterday, on the left side of your screen, you see that United Healthcare was up 11%, and them health was a 15% signal was up 10%, and meanwhile, some defense contractors did well, but not quite as well. Lockheed Martin, North or Grumman Raytheon were up for to 5%. This was a clear reaction to the Super Tuesday wins of Joe Biden. Now, why do I say that? Well, first of all, Joe bins big healthcare plan is a public option this is not hugely threatening to these Healthcare Corporations. When Joe Biden win Super Tuesday, and at least appears to be on the fast track to the nomination that’s a signal of new information to the market that if from gets reelected or if I… And gets elected, the gravy train for the health insurance companies is more or less going to remain unchanged compared to if Bernie was president and started a unified push for Medicare for 03/06/20 Page 9 of 16 davidpakmanshow20200305commercialfree all that really could threaten the prophets of these healthcare companies. That tells us a lot. Now, a lot of people wrote to me and said, “You know, David, it’s a bit of a cheap shot because it was a big stock market day yesterday, everything was up. We’ll hold on a second though. The major indices were up about three to 4%Defence contractors were up about the same amount for to 5%, but healthcare stocks were up two to three times that amount. So it’s not enough to say, “Well everything was up. So there’s nothing to see here. And even more overunrelated companies like Tesla for example, my beloved Tesla shares weren’t basically up at all Tesla, was basically even… So, to write this off as nothing to see because it was a good day for the market as if all of a sudden the market is not reacting to actual new information that is relevant, it’s materially relevant. Who is the Democratic nominee to the future profits of healthcare companies? It would be very nice to pretend that that’s not what’s going on, but then there’s the next angle. Joe Biden has not made it a secret that if he’s president, the main crossroads of power, are going to remain fundamentally unchanged. He actually was caught saying this to donors. Remember when Joe Biden said “I need you very badly to wealthy donors. No one standard of living will change nothing would fundamentally change. Rich people are just as patriotic as poor people. We may not wanna demonize anyone who has made money. And I hope if I win this nomination I won’t let you down. That also applies to the centers of industry, so of course, markets like the bid and wins, it’s a continuing gravy train for healthcare stocks. It’s very good for them, it’s not so good for people who need care and can’t afford it but that’s why healthcare stocks were up 10 to 15% yesterday. And then on top of that, there’s always a layer with the markets of predictability and maintaining the status quo, markets like that. Joe Biden said it, he then want a bunch of primaries. You really don’t have to dig too deeply to figure out what’s going on here. Combined more generally with the erratic nature of the market, under Trump up down, up down, particularly with the cool party virus as we are calling it, you’ll understand why if you watched yesterday show the market is up and down drastically already, the highs are high, the lows are low. Yesterday was a high, and it was a particularly good day, for healthcare stocks that are experiencing what we could call some relief as a result of the Super Tuesday results. The question is, “What’s good for healthcare stocks? Good for the average American. I think we all know the answer to that.
