Get Fit in Nashville: A Tough Mudder Travel Guide – Coachified Ep. 14 | Tough Mudder

[MUSIC PLAYING] All right, Mudders. We’ve been to Atlanta. We’ve been to Vancouver. But now we’re in Music City, USA– Nashville, Tennessee. And I’m flying solo. So I’ve asked legionnaires–
yes, that’s you, Mudder Nation– how they live life to the
fullest in this amazing town. So we’re going to take it on. We’re going to get fit. We’re going to eat snacks. And we’re going to rock and roll. [MUSIC PLAYING] Coachified! Living life to the fullest is
about getting dirty and doing things that make you feel alive. But you’re bound to get a
cut or scrape along the way. If you don’t, you’re not doing it right. [MUSIC PLAYING] Hey! Yes! What are you guys doing? Just a little warm-up in the park. Getting ready for some fitness? Yes. Yes! I found myself a couple
Legionnaires here. How many Tough Mudders
have you guys done? Four. And we’re right here in
Nashville, Tennessee. We’re training for your– Fifth. And where are we at? Cumberland Park. And what are we up to today? We’re going to have our morning workout. Let’s get Nashville fit. Let’s live life to the fullest. Let’s do it. Let’s do this. So what we’re looking for here is
we’re going to go for 20 squats. We’re going to be feet
at shoulder width, toes pointed out ever so slightly. We’re going to keep the
weight on our heels. And we’re going to take our booties
down, hip crease below the knee, chest nice and vertical, and stand up,
squeezing our butts to the top and repeat. Up next we’re to do 10 push-ups. What I’m looking for is the body
in a nice, tight plank position, squeezing our butts,
squeezing our cores. We can modify this by elevating our
hands, keeping our feet a little bit lower. But don’t forget about
that nice, tight core. We can also go off our knees, staying
nice and tight all the way down, all the way up. Do so many push-ups. Do them so awesome. For our hill sprints, we’re looking
for explosive power, all-out speed, and high intensity. This isn’t your grandma’s
jog anymore, Mudders. We just finished five rounds of– 20 squats. 10 push-ups. And some high-intensity hill sprints. And if you Mudders are still
ambitious after that, why don’t you come with us for a little joggy-poo. Just go for a light jog. Yeah! Gina, Christy, thanks so much for
showing me how you guys live life to the fullest in this amazing city. I want to keep my adventure on,
so I’m going to head out that way. We’re going to go this way. See you guys later. Again, thank you so much. And we’ll see you at
a Tough Mudder soon. Nashville! It’s very important to stay hydrated and
cool while you’re training in the city. Snacks. Snacks. Snacks. Snacks. Mm. I’m fueled. I’m energized. I’m really ready to take on
Nashville after those snacks. [MUSIC PLAYING] [GRUNTING] [CHEERING] OK, my next stop on this epic
Nashville adventure is the Parthenon. And I’m here with husband and
wife duo, Jonathan and Kailey. And like a Greek sculptor, we’re
going to sculpt our bodies. Some of the most perfect
stairs ever right here. We’re going to blast our glutes. Let’s get it done. We’re blasting our way to success. What gets you motivated to work out
in such awesome places like this? You know, coming out in the city and
working out helps me build my core. It helps me increase my endurance. Keeping that healthy
lifestyle– it’s what’s important, just maintaining
healthy every single day. We got fit together. We used to be very overweight. And then we both got
into fitness together. And now we’re here. We’re doing Tough Mudders. At one point I weighed
almost 300 pounds. I mean, that just goes to show you,
when you set your mind to something, no matter what you’re
at, you can get there. And you can work towards it. And you can get better. So we’re talking about Tough Mudder. We’re talking about fitness. Anybody can do it. You just have to take that first step. Thank you, Coach, for coming to
work out with us at the Parthenon. Oh, that was fantastic. You guys just helped me out. We just got explosive. We grew our glutes, which is important. So I’m going to continue adventuring
through this amazing city. And we’re going to get back to our
workout right here at the Parthenon. Keep on fitnessing. Yeah! Get your fitness on! Keep on getting your fitness on. Keep it on. I’m going to get on it now. I got to go. It’s all about the community
here, Tough Mudder, running around, getting fit
in the middle of the street. This is fantastic. Yeah. There you go. This is what we do. So our Nashville adventure is all time. And now we’re here with
a good friend of mine and World’s Toughest and Tough
Mudder Legionnaire, Amber. What do you have in store for us? Well, training stairs was
one of my favorite things to do when I’m training
for a Tough Mudder. So where else could we be that’s
going to make the stairs just a blast? Nissan Stadium. We’re going to run some today. So these are the biggest, the
best, and the craziest stairs, I think, in all of Nashville. You know, stairs are awesome because
it’s going to help with our quads. It’s going to help with our glutes. And we’re going to bring a
little high intensity into it. So we’re going to work
our butts off going up. And then we’re to cool down on the way
back down, get a little bit of interval training, high intensity,
explosive power. That was a great workout. And these are the best
steps in Nashville. Thanks for showing this to me. Thanks for training with me. My glutes are trashed. My quads are trashed. I’m tired. You showed me how you
train for Tough Mudder. I’m going to continue on,
taking on this awesome city. We’ll see you at
World’s Toughest Mudder. See you then. [MUSIC PLAYING] Snacks! All right, Nashville. We partied all day with fitness. We’re going to party all night long. Thank you. We’re going to live life to the fullest. And you just got Coachified. [MUSIC PLAYING]
