7 WORST Healthy Habits You Need to STOP

7 WORST Healthy Habits You Need to STOP

This video is for my more advanced viewers who are brand new to fitness. I recommend you go over to my website Cocoa Fitness comm start a free trial you get 10 days free to check out all my programs See if you can find something for yourself And then when you are in a great place with your routine come back and watch this video because I don’t want to scare you Off let’s talk about these healthy habits number 1 drinking green smoothies I put this in air quotes because some of us out out here putting 3 leaves of spinach in our smoothie then a whole cup of strawberries 2 bananas a bunch of yogurt and a ton of all sorts of stuff in there and Then it’s like this like green sludge and we call it a green smoothie I’m not asking us to go for free on our smoothies I’m just saying that it’s good to exercise caution because with too much fruit in a green smoothie It just becomes another way of drinking calories instead of eating them I’ll tell you some things you can do differently at the end of the video But let’s move on to healthy habit number 2 fasting without Electrolytes, I’ve seen several YouTube videos where people are doing intermittent fasting and they are having headaches and they are dizzy And all this stuff and it shouldn’t be that way I’m not a person that fast every single day, but when I fast I do extend it fast and I’m not dizzy. I’m not fainting I’m not having headaches from the fast and that’s because I make sure that I am getting my Electrolytes in I will give you some tips at the end of this video But if you’re a person that’s trying intermittent fasting and you find you’re having these symptoms Let me be the one to tell you that you don’t have to feel that way. You can still fast and feel good You will be hungry if it’s an extended fast because you’re not eating. Let’s be honest here. Eventually. I will do my fasting video I just feel like you guys are not gonna watch it that’s why I haven’t done it yet when I fast I typically will do like a 24 hour fast and it’s not like Do or die you know if I’m trying to do a 24 hour fast and I can really make it 16 hours then it is What it is number 3 severe calorie restriction for an extended period of time what is severe calorie? Restriction see their calorie restriction is when you are eating less than your BMR What is your BMR your BMR is your basic metabolic rate? That’s the energy or body uses to keep your heart beating your lungs working the blood pumping through your veins all of your nerves Doing what? They’re supposed to do all the new runs up here firing if you are eating less than that amount because you’re trying to lose weight it is because you’re trying to drop weight fast or It is because you’re trying to lose vanity weight vanity weight is that last five pounds that you keep losing and gaining? Losing and gaining because your body doesn’t think you need to lose that weight But Instagram thinks you do can we stop and I’m not even saying this from a place of judgment? I’m saying this from a place of I have been there. I have done that. It doesn’t work I had a point in time where I wanted to be a certain body fat percentage no more any Sensible reason other than the fact that I just wanted to be that body fat percentage It was like I’ll just eat a thousand calories and guess what I gained weight Obsessively counting calories, don’t get me wrong I support counting calories if it feels good to you if it works for you if you are competing or some kind of athletic competition But if you have reached the point of weighing your spinach if you have reached the point of counting your raisins Stop it. It doesn’t have to be this extreme of like counting every calorie or not counting calories at all There can be a middle ground of counting sometimes not counting sometimes and there can be a middle ground all checking certain things and not checking certain things one of the instances where I definitely recommend counting calories is If you are brand new to fitness if you are used to eating burgers and pizza and fast food all the time Counting calories could be helpful to teach orphan sizes. And how many calories are in certain foods outside of that It’s very subjective eating something just because it is organic Low fat or it looks healthy you guys if it is packaged be on Your guard. Oh my god. This is another one sugar-free Just because something says sugar-free on the box doesn’t mean it’s good for you Don’t play yourself buying these expensive snacks thinking they’re doing you good when in reality they are holding you back They just snatching your way from behind eating unlimited quantities of healthy I was a victim of this last year and I say victim because I felt like a victim here’s what happened I found this app that I was using to figure out how much Nutrients I was getting from my food and based on this app. I realized our nutrients were just missing for my diet So I started trying to incorporate more these very healthy things in my diet. I wasn’t checking my portions I was just like oh my god. I need these vitamins. Let me just say straight to you now I was gaining weight even though I was eating healthy foods and trying to get my nutrients directly from food and what I realized was that for my modern lifestyle if I want to get all my Nutrients directly from food sources, I will need to exercise Way more than I am able to fit into my schedule just because something is healthy does not mean we can eat unlimited quantities of the Eating the most popular diet. There is the keto diet the Pescetarian diet the balanced diet the Paleo diet the primal diet the Mediterranean diet I just want to tell you everyone should do the diet that works for them this is why I don’t push any one particular diet because Everybody is so unique that there’s no way I can sit here in Texas and tell you in Germany that you should eat a keto diet because it’s the diet that’s gonna work for you personally I have tried almost all these diets just out of curiosity some of them. I didn’t last more than four hours Let’s talk about some things we can do different number one with the green Smoothie situation is instead of just like putting so much fruit in the smoothies How about we put less how about we aim to put more vegetables? Than fruit in the smoothie. Don’t worry. You don’t have to do this. It’s just an idea so the next time you’re making your green smoothie, you just kind of hear my voice in your head going like Kale kale Regarding the fasting situation you’re doing a shorter fast Coconut water is a great source of electrolytes on sweetened coconut water if you’re doing an extended fast it’s a bit more tricky because if you drink too much of that coconut water, you’re going to kick your body out of ketosis and Ruin the whole point of doing the fast I find that for me It’s better to make my own electrolyte water. If you start online for DIY electrolyte water. I’m sure you will find Recipes that you can try get your electrolytes in if it’s a shorter fast Drink coconut water if you’re going beyond 14 hours on your fast then maybe look into making your own electrolyte water Regarding the severe calorie restriction eat more You can find out your BMR by typing BMR calculator and Google don’t starve yourself if you’re eating 600 calories a day consistently over an extended period of time That’s dangerous eat more you have my permission now obsessively counting calories If you have a feeling that maybe this isn’t right Then we need to stop that and find other ways to track your progress You can track progress by how you feel how things fit It’s not as precise, but it’s effective and it doesn’t make you feel bad about these foods that trick us with their organic low fat Natural labels the only way you can be sure that what you are eating is good for you is by reading the nutrition label when you look at the nutrition label The main thing you want to focus on is the sugar content and the calories all the other information is really useful as well but if you’re really Green to reading nutrition labels start there about the unlimited quantities of healthy foods not going to lie I’m still working on this what I have found that’s working for me right now though is to prioritize my Nutrients the way I do that is to just make sure that I am getting a lot of color in my diet and our house We go by a rainbow because it’s something that’s easy to remember and my son can participate in it every day We try to eat our red orange. Yellow green Purple and tan foods red can be like tomatoes strawberries orange can be oranges or carrots Yellow could be bananas Or lemons green could be spinach or kale purple could be raisins or beets and 10 could be brown rice quinoa all those whole grains tend to fall into that tan or brown category if you didn’t know the color of the food is Indicated of the nutrient that is in it Don’t you just love nature? It’s like It’s awesome. It’s me excited about eating popular diet So the bottom line on this one is to just focus on your body how it feels and what it’s telling you and go with your gut pun intended Thank you so much for watching this video subscribe to my youtube channel if you haven’t done so already And I’ll see you next video I do do extent I do do I’m sorry, that shouldn’t be that shouldn’t be it shouldn’t be the case for your lungs to keep Helping you respire or spire respirate Respire or it just kind of helps to keep me busy, you know channels my energy would Like me I am advanced that eating pizza. Oh my god, it’s my talent. I am so good at it. I Wish a pizza company would sponsor me. I would totally do it You see this is why I am so paranoid About my microphone You

  1. Happy Singleness Awareness Month 🙂 Lol! What videos would you like to see on my channel this month??? I'm taking suggestions! 🤗🤗

  2. In a green smoothie I put a couple of vegetables in it. And add one piece a fruit I use both. Milk or water and ask for protein. I usually have two boiled eggs is so good. And it makes me feel full and after my smoothie I do a workout and and for the rest of the day and evening I would do. My usual intermittent fasting after 8 o Clock . Because after 8 o Clock I don't want. To be tempted to eat chips. Because the old me. Would keep eating And I wouldn't feel full. But it's the new me. Now I just want eat healthy and be healthy for the rest of my life. I love watching. Videos that will help me. Be that healthy person that I am today in a year 2020💜❤💖💗💧💧💧💪💪💪 and so far I have not had really bad headaches. I used to get migraines. I actually have been. Migraine free for a couple months And that makes me really happy.😀😀😀😀

  3. Could you please do a Intermittent fasting i love watching videos about Intermittent fasting because I want to learn more. About intermittent fasting what to do And what not to do? When you're intimate fasting 💧💧💧💧💧💧

  4. At the end of each day should I be more concerned about the calorie intake or the net calories (For example: I’ll consume 1200 a day but be netting 600 or 700)?

  5. I started my diet 2 weeks ago and following your workout videos and staying on a strict diet I've lost 6kg in 2 weeks (13.2lbs I think?)

Bless you for uploading, I've had 2 boys so I've been at point where I've felt to embarrassed to go out for runs or join a gym or go anywhere for that matter.. (and I'm only 22 😒) . Thanks to you I'm able to do it in the comfort of my own home. xxx

  6. koboko : "the colour of the food is indicative of the nutrients in it"
me: looks at the packet of skittles I just got "niceee"👀😂😂

  7. Lemon and ginger add great flavor to smoothies and cut the spinach kale taste. Def have to add half a banana in there. Also chia seeds gel and will make your smoothie more smoothie like without having to add things like yogurt if you want to omit dairy 😊

  8. I don't count calories I enjoy my healthy lifestyle because I eat 88g of carbs, 67gof fats, and 124g of protein that is it I eat I feel good all I know that I do what I enjoy and I love I have lost 20 pounds in two months I love it

  9. So…. intermittent fasting… those lucky normies. I'll get dizzy no matter what. Low blood pressure (and maybe sugar) sucks. If I don't eat I can pass out. Literally after a day of not eating. I'll probably pass out after being dizzy all day. It's not fun….

So I guess here's the question. If I drink enough electrolytes can I intermittent fast and not get dizzy or pass out?

  10. i’ve done intermediate fasting (11-7)when i was on holiday and it worked super well for me but my problem is, i leave the house at 7am and come home at 6:30pm and i have a pretty long way too school so i cant help but eat at 6am and then dinner at 7/8pm 🙁 it rly sucks because i rly wanna do fasting

  11. I haven’t been so happy and healthy in my body since I stopped fasting and restricting calories. I’ve gone from being underweight to being thick, toned and curvy!

  12. Ok but what if you naturally eat under your BMR. Like me, not dieting, eats about 1000ish calories. I eat 3 meals a day and snacks and feel happy and full.

  13. Finally found someone who's actually making sensible points regarding 'HEALYHY DIETS'
I loved when you said "I can't sit here and tell you what's good for you"
    Subscribed !
    Love from India. 💕

  14. I agree counting calaries is a balance once you do it a while you can tell what things are. definitely good for beginners then stop

  15. Thank you for touching on calorie counting. I used to track every single thing, weighing everything, taking my macros to a T every day. It was super unhealthy. But I also have terrible intuition when it comes to satiety and portion sizes. Counting some calories and weighing some things has helped my mental state immensely. I usually keep track of what I eat during the day/at work and leave myself about 800 to 900 calories for dinner to meet my deficit goals. If I know I'm having a heavier dinner, I leave myself more room. If it's a lighter dinner I eat more earlier in the day.

  16. i checked my bmr and realized that ive been undereating unconsciously around 1000cal a day. I still eat 3 meals day and snacks in between and i still feel full and fine. Just that eating beyond my normal consumption upsets my stomach and makes me feel like vomiting. So now idk what to do

  17. For intermittent fasting, just ask Muslims. No actually, I’m Muslim and basically what we do is we have this holiday called ‘ramadan’ where we fast for 30 days. We fast from sunrise to the evening. Before sunrise and after the evening is basically an open window to eat and drink whenever and whatever you want. However, we can’t eat ALOT between this time because it opposes the idea of fasting.
In case anyone was wondering, Muslims fast to remind us that there are people out there that aren’t as fortunate as us to be able to have 3 meals a day; it’s also a way to ground us and not be greedy.

  18. 🙂 I love your tips! I am an avid calorie / macros counter. But, I have to girlfriend… you give me an inch… I will take a mile! It really does work best for me. Can't wait to try your workouts.

  19. I downloaded an app and it tells me to eat 600-900 calories a day
Im 5'11 and weigh 141 pounds wtf
It has good low carb recipes tho so Im keeping it lmao
Im of course not sticking to the calorie thing

  20. Counting calories is playing with the devil. I had an eating disorder for 11&1/2 years from becoming obsessed with that and nearly died twice as a teenager and into my 20s. Thankfully I came through it and am far out the other side for years now, but believe me, you’ll still catch a glimpse of him trying to poison your mind for rest of your life.
You’ll loose control before you even realise it. Then trying to get out of it, I imagine it’s similar to a heroin addict coming off drugs.
Portion size and healthy exercise is the most important thing. It’s about balance not obsessive restrictions.

  21. Wow amazing from where you come from 3 years ago. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step indeed. Congrats.

  22. Im always confused by the BMR because I am according to all BMI and BMR charts a short petite woman approx. 5'2. However, according to these charts my BMR should be about 1300, and my weight about 115lbs, but I feel that is unhealthy especially as I get older. Does anyone have any advice?

  23. Just one little thing: the Mediterranean diet is not one more "popular diet" you choose to loose weight like some others you mention, in fact it is defined as a whole way of life that includes some life habits plus the diet itself (which by the way has been proved to be one of the healthiest diets in terms of quality of nutrients and cardiovascular protection)

  24. Stop making people feel stupid in your thumbnails. People are not clicking, because they’re annoyed. I clicked, because I’m annoyed. Try to be more positive like saying: 7 bad habits and what to do instead. Don’t get me wrong, i like you and i know you’re trying to help people.

  25. As someone who studies nutrition, I can confirm that this video is very informative. Also her personality is so fun and bubbly, I instantly subbed!

  26. Her: there's no way I can sit here in TEXAS and…"
Me: ayeeee I'm from Texas yee-fuckin-haw
Her: "and you in GERMANY what diet to use…"
Me: ……how did she know I live in Germany :0

  27. Yay!!! You just answered all the questions that's been bothering me since I started my weight loss journey… Thank you for this. 🙂

  28. If anyone else loves her sports bra, it’s Avia! I have the exact same one in blue. Got it from Walmart for under $15 and it is super comfortable and supportive!

  29. I'd love the fasting video because I tried intermittent fasting and had the headache issue so I'd love more tips because all people ever say is drink coffee and tea. I did just that and I still felt like shit.

  30. Just starting my journey (I’ve got about 80 lbs I need to lose) calculated my BMR and got a food scale and calorie counter just to see where I was starting at and My typical diet is below BMR. So I added exercise (cuz I hadn’t been) and started with 3 days a week. No results. Then I upped it to 6 days a week (3 cardio days 3 strengthening days) and the scale has moved about 2 lbs in a month! I’ve lost some inches, but given how much weight I need to lose I expected some change. I’m at a loss what to do. Do I up calories? That’s seems counterintuitive and I don’t feel hungry most days. (Online calculators say my BMR is around 1900 and I’m eating on average 1700)

  31. Soo… the thing is, I eat normally, I eat when Im hungry, I stop when I am full. I love food. Mainly I eat about 3 to 5 times a day? Just the normal… Then I started calculating the calories I would eat in a day with this app, and I don't even hit the 1000 calories? I eventually thought, you know, maybe I need to change up my diet, put in more heavy calorie based foods or just eat more in general… I tried that for about two months and found myself feeling terrible, as if my body screamed to stop eating so much. I don't feel like I need to eat more, I function well, got enough energy etc etc. Now the thing is, my BMR is supposed to be around 1200, I am not losing weight, neither am I gaining weight, neither is my belly changing when I work out regularly let's say about 3 to 4 times a week. It stays as plump as it is, not fat but also not toned.
Could some one explain this and clarify what I am possibly doing wrong?

  32. Lmao at counting your raisins. I can’t even laugh because I struggle counting calories and eating by macros but I’m very new to this.

  33. fair enough but the whole "don't eat under x amount of kcal" is a myth that is detremental to anyone trying to go from obese to a more healthy weight. as long as u succesfully switch from burning food to burning body fat, it doesn't matter what percentage comes from what. what it takes to go from burning food/carbs to burning fat is different for each individual person.

  34. I only put in my smoothie what I would eat on a plate. 1 cup berries, 1 banana, 12 oz almond milk, 1 tsp of flax seeds, and 2 tbsp spoon of almond butter (both of which I would typically put on top of banana). If I want a handful of greens, I only put 1/2 cup of berries. Also no honey, agave, sweetened milk, or anything sugary – use ripe bananas!

  35. I’ve been trying to be vegan since 2014 and all of that restriction was so difficult. I eat more plant based food and purchase more cruelty free products now that I don’t tell myself I’m trying to be vegan 😂 only you know your brain!

  36. I'm 169cm tall and weight 63kg. I want to lose fat so I'm consuming 1300kcal per day, is that enough for me? I'm scared that I might be hurting my body somehow.

  37. First time viewer, and subbed! Great info and great delivery. Gonna check your channel to see if you posted a fasting video already. ☺️

  38. you feel dizzy and weaj during fasting because you're literally depriving your body of the fuel it needs. fuck this diet culture fasting is fucking dangerous geez
edit: obv if you're fasting for religious reasons that's different

  39. She is so correct when it comes to 7th point. I am a South Indian. For me RICE is very important. But because Carbs have been made villain in recent times, I thought of quitting it. Even Roti or Chapati is considered non healthy. All these "Keto low carb" diets make you wonder if all the vegetables and Grains are unhealthy. Hence I decided to do Fasting and eat what I cook at home. No sweet or processed outside food. Just home made food. Stopped counting calories too.

  40. I've got one of your videos on my suggestions and now I'm binging all of your videos lol, you're amazing and very very very helpful (unfortunately I have a few of the habits you mentioned but I'm trying to get rid of them)

  41. Could you potentialy make a knee friendly "butt and thigh" workout. Or a video on how to prevent knee popping when squating. My posture is good but I can't seem to keep them from popping or hurting
